BEAUTY THERAPY GOODWILL AND BRAND AMBASSADORS SRI LANKA CHAPTER

While AUGP USA  enlists the volunteer services and support of prominent individuals from the worlds of art, sport, literature, humanitarian services, peace and entertainment to highlight priority issues and to draw attention to its activities and appoint them as Goodwill Ambassadors, a certain number of suitable persons may be appointed as Beauty Therapy Goodwill or Brand Ambassadors in a selected country. These appointments would only be valid for a selected period of time.

Ramani Fernando is an iconic figure in the hair and beauty culture industry in Sri Lanka, spanning a career of over 40 years. Having won the Zonta ‘Woman of Achievement’ in the late 90’s, she has been the recipient of many prestigious accolades. In 2005, Ramani was adjudged ‘The Woman Entrepreneur of The Year’, awarded by the ‘Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry’ of Sri Lanka.

GERALD SOLOMONS

Mr.Gerald Solomons

Gerald Solomons has been in Hair and Beauty care for over 4 decades. He migrated to New Zealand and set up Chagall in Auckland. Chagall soon hit the headlines and was rated as the best hair and beauty salon for 3 consecutive years.

He then moved to Australia and became famous there too. Gerald has been trained in all the famous fashion capitals in the world.

Ramzi Rahaman

Mr. Ramzi Rahaman

Ramzi Rahaman is a renowned hairstylist/ beautician who has more than 40 years of experience.

He has acquired his professional qualifications from many of the top hairdressing schools in London.

He constantly participates in television talk shows and seminars to the corporate sector on grooming sessions and participates in hair & beauty workshops as well.

He was the “official beautician for grooming” for the Sri Lankan airline cabin & ground handling staff.

Manel Kotuwegoda

Ms. Manel Kotuwegoda

Manel Kotuwegoda has more than 43 years of hands on experience in the beauty culture field, providing excellence service to this field through studying beauty culture in many countries such as Australia, Thailand, China and Singapore. Proving herself, she has won the Presidential award twice in 2009 and 2017.

She was also awarded with the ‘most popular beautician’ award consecutively in the years 2006 and 2007.

Suinitha Kotelawala

Ms. Swinitha Kotalawala

In Suinitha Kotalawela’s quest to gaining knowledge of cosmetology, she advanced herself with many secrets that enhance and retain beauty. Being a teacher at the start of her career – the desire to share her knowledge overcame her. She started her first class in the 1993, with a few students which today have grown into many numbers. In the same year she entered the salon business by setting up her first salon at the YMBA Shopping Complex.

With more than 60 batches graduating, in her own words, her biggest accomplishment is that she was able to fulfil her desire to serve her motherland. “Beauty culture is the best subject that one could ever teach and feel greatly rewarded” she states adding that the satisfaction she receives through the performance of her students is the fruit and reward she ever long for.

Dora Attanayake

Ms. Dora Attanayake

Dora Attanayake has 40 years of experience in the field of beauty culture and is a Diploma holder in Hairdressing & Beauty Culture in UK, Japan, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, India.

She is the Founder President Of Professional Hairdressers & Beauticians of Sri Lanka and is an All Island Justice of Peace. Dora is also the Director of the Salon ‘Dora & School of Hair & Beauty’.

Johaan Peries

Mr. Johann Peries

An artist inspired by nature, Johann is a hair designer by profession and adventurer by choice. He is the only Sri Lankan man to summit Mount Everest at 8,848 m which he achieved on the 22nd of May 2018.

Johann began his hair-dressing career 25 years ago. Opting for originality over formulaic, he soon became popular as one of the best hair designers in the country. Ta king his innate flair in the beauty and fashion culture a step further, he reestablished the local industry to meet international standards by introducing new concepts in bridal designs, attire conceptualizing and make up. Today he is one of the most sought after hair and beauty designers, and amongst the few Sri Lankans in the industry to be globally acclaimed.
